The state title is the third consecutive and 23rd in program history.
The second state championship came only a few hours later at Lafayette High School in Lexington. The Tigers defeated Daviess County 3-0 on Saturday night and claimed the school's 13th KHSAA state soccer title while remaining undefeated in the state of Kentucky for the season. The goals were juniors Wyatt Goodin, Connor George and Case Cox.
Connor was named the tournament's MVP after posting a goal and an assist. Additionally, Bennett Moorman and Case Cox were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Tigers outscored their opponents 19-2 throughout their 4-game tournament run.
This championship marks the ninth for Coach Andy Schulten '87 - the most of any boys soccer coach in state history, and he's 9-1 all-time in state finals.
Congratulations Coach Andy Schulten and the Tiger soccer team!
