The current calendar reflects the following changes:

Thanks to Flik Dining, the green and gold just got greener. Flik, as part of its green initiative, is cutting back on the use of Styrofoam during lunch periods.
Flik's Dining Services Director, Jim Hunnicutt, has spearheaded the effort to reduce cafeteria waste on a day-to-day basis.
During the summer of 2016, the cafeteria underwent a major 10-week renovation to construct a new kitchen and several food service facilities that would enhance the dining experience for students, faculty and staff. Styrofoam cups were replaced with tumblers, while soda fountain drinks were replaced with an enhanced water product dispensing machine as an initiative to serve healthier drinks to students.
“We wanted to be more conscious of our waste,” Jim said. "Replacing the foam cups with the tumblers increased the need to run the tumblers through the dish washer, but it has not affected the amount of chemicals used for the machine."
Overall, Jim purchased 371 fewer cases of 20 ounce foam cups saving nearly $7,900 throughout the school year.
“Here at St. X, we recycle pretty much everything and my ultimate goal this year would be to eliminate all foam by the end of the first semester. I would like to make an effort this coming school year to remove foam from the campus and help the students, faculty and staff understand that nearly all plastics used in the cafe are recyclable.”
