Coach Scott Howe Sr. was a 4 Year Letterman in lacrosse at the University of Virginia, and member of the 1972, Division I National Championship Team. With 15 boys from various high schools, he started Boys High School Lacrosse in 1998. With his leadership the state now enjoys the growing sport of lacrosse. In 2001, he led the first official Saint Xavier Lacrosse Team to the inaugural Kentucky Lacrosse Association State Championship. Since then, the Tigers have been back to the Finals every year except one, taking home the Title in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. In addition to the 8 KLA State Championships, Coach Howe has coached multiple High School All-Americans and players who have gone on and played competitive college lacrosse at the Division I, II, and III levels. Coach Howe finished his twelfth year with a 153-74 record as Head Coach of the Tigers. In 2010, Coach Howe was nationally recognized by his selection as the Coach of the West Team in US Lacrosse's National Senior Showcase Games at Bryant University in Providence, Rhode Island.
