Football University (FBU), a national, invitation-only training camp run by former NFL players and coaches, came to the Lexington area at Lafayette High School the weekend of June 3rd with more than 200 of the area’s elite high school and youth athletes (6th-11th grades).
One of the top athletes on hand, Karl Roesler, took home one of the Gatorade “G” Awards given to the top high school defensive player in the camp. By the end of the weekend, no player on the defensive side of the ball had been more impressive than the 6’2”, 215-pound standout Roesler. One of the most exciting defensive players participating in FBU Lexington, his weekend performance was worthy enough to be named the camp’s defensive MVP. With a combination of his talent and hard work, the rising junior made a name for himself while dominating from his position on the defensive line.
The FBU Lexington athletes performed as expected in such a talent-rich portion of the country. However, there are always those who rise above.
