Learning Differences

Students with learning differences can be found in every program: Honors, Academic and Excel.

In order for students with learning differences to be accommodated, Saint Xavier High School requires an updated psychological assessment that must have been completed within the last 5 years. The assessment has to have a documented learning difference or disability.

ACT guidelines require current testing within the last 3 years with a documented learning difference or disability to even be considered for extra time.

SAT guidelines require current testing within the last 5 years with a documented learning difference or disability to even be considered for extra time.

The primary accommodations that Saint Xavier High School acknowledges are preferential seating and extra time on tests. Certain diagnoses require other accommodations and are looked at on an individual basis.  It is imperative that if you feel your son needs to be tested, that testing is pursed immediately. Testing can take awhile and before any accommodations at Saint Xavier High School can be approved, or even be considered for ACT or SAT extra time, a psychological evaluation must be on file.
