Director of People Operations

Saint Xavier High School is searching for a Director of People Operations, who reports directly to the President and the VP for Finance. The Director of People Operations will serve as a member of the Leadership Team and be responsible for benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance.
Essential functions include:
Talent Acquisition & Development
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, onboarding, retention, and succession planning.
- Coordinates the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified candidates; collaborates with department leaders to understand skills and competencies required. Maintains compliance with related recordkeeping.
- Develops or contracts with vendors for learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Leads new employee onboarding and orientation.
- Provides support and coordination of constructive and timely performance evaluations across SXHS.
- Oversees employee corrective action process, meetings, terminations, and investigations in accordance with SXHS policy.
Employee Relations
- Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations. ▪ Handles compliance for the following but not limited to FMLA, Workers Compensation, COBRA, ADA, FLSA, disability insurances, Title 9, I-9’s, and OSHA
Compliance, Policy, Procedure & Practice
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices and recommends changes to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Coordinates with Finance on HRIS and responsible for related systems and vendor relationships in the HR space.
- Manages the FMLA process and administration.
- Partners with the leadership team to ensure employee communication aligns with school needs and SXHS goals.
Benefits & Compensation
- Serve as the point of contact for employee benefits administration to include annual renewals, enrollment, plan revisions, ACA, retirement plan, HSA, Medicare, COBRA, and new employee orientation to the offerings. Maintain compliance related to all plan offerings.
- Analyze trends in compensation and benefits to ensure SXHS attracts and retains top talent.
- This position will serve as backup for payroll which may include payroll administration including paid time off programs. Partner with finance colleagues to ensure proper allocation and record keeping.
- Assist VP for Finance with compensation programs.
Other duties as assigned by the President or VP for Finance
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the HR field
- Knowledge of PAYCOR is preferred
- SHRM Certified SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, or HRCI certified SPHR

Enrollment Coordinator – Recruiting & Retention

Saint Xavier High School is searching for an Enrollment Coordinator – Recruiting & Retention, who reports directly to the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Enrollment Management. The Enrollment Coordinator assists the AVP with the recruitment of, marketing to, and public relations with prospective middle school students and their families. The role assists with the coordination and the execution of student recruitment and enrollment management programs.
Essential functions include:
Admissions, Enrollment Management, and Retention
- Works with the AVP to coordinate, execute, and supervise a comprehensive recruitment and admissions program for prospective students (including budgetary planning, materials development, and personnel management and evaluation measures).
- Develops and executes a communications plan to target groups and individual prospective students through email, social media, and phone campaigns
- Develops and executes the Student Ambassador Program to train and schedule current students to tour and host prospective students and families inquiring about St. X
- Execute campus events through presentations and tours for interested candidates
- Work closely with Faculty and Staff to promote academic, athletic, and extracurricular activities to ensure we attract the best candidates for our school programs
- Assists in the day-to-day operations for the Office of Enrollment Management, to include database management, fielding phone calls, and any additional school related needs.
- Coordinate, execute, and supervise recruitment visits, the shadow program, “high-school nights” and other student recruitment events.
- Coordinate, execute, and manage programs including but not limited to the Saint Xavier Open House, Walkabout Wednesday series, the Entrance/Placement Exam and retention events (Tiger Blast and Tiger Strong).
- Works to retain students that may be at risk or who express thoughts of leaving St. X for another school.
- Seeks opportunities to increase public relations efforts in order to promote awareness within the local community to include attendance at enrollment or St. X community events.
- Other duties as requested by the President, SVP, or Principal.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field required
- Strong Communication and Presentation Skills
- Technologically savvy and proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Exceptional organizational skills while still exhibiting a high degree of flexibility
- The ability to work nights and weekends
