Six current and recently graduated student recognized by Ohio Valley Chapter

Congratulations to the six current and recently graduated St. X students who have been recognized by the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for their film and video works produced during the past year. Christian Beck and Cooper Tyra '18 won a collective three Student Production Awards. These entries will advance to the Academy's national awards competition. There were also five Honorable Mentions awarded to entries from St. X.

Combined, St. X won more awards and more honorable mentions than any other school in the chapter's four state region of Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and West Virginia.

The awards will be presented to the students at the Regional Emmy Awards Gala on August 18 in Lawrenceburg, IN.

The Student Production Award competition received a record number of entries from colleges, universities and high schools across the chapter's four-state region. Industry professionals judged and critiqued the entries which showcased a wide range of talent from these future broadcasters and media producers.

"The work of our region's students continues to impress the professionals who judge their submissions," said Leslie Blackston-Favors, Student Awards Chairman for the Ohio Valley Chapter. "The level of competitiveness increases each year; and, the students certainly embody the standard of excellence that NATAS was founded to maintain. Congratulations to those who have been honored this year. We're proud to have the opportunity to encourage and mentor these dynamic students."
