Boland '89 to lead Tiger golf program; Shearn '09 and White '03 named assistant coaches
Saint Xavier High School is proud to announce Davis Boland has been named Head Coach of the Tiger golf program.
Davis, a four-year member of the Tiger Golf team, graduated from St. X in 1989 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Dayton. He earned first team All-Conference honors twice as a member of the Flyer Golf team. Additionally, as an accomplished amateur player on the local, state and regional scene, Davis brings a wealth of golf knowledge and a keen competitive spirit to his role as the leader of the program.
David Shearn '09 and Curt White '03 will serve as assistant coaches in the program. David, a former player for both St. X and Bellarmine University, served as an assistant golf professional at both Audubon Country Club and Louisville Country Club after graduating from Bellarmine in 2013.
Curt is a member of the Leadership Team at St. X, where he currently serves as Director of Admissions. Curt, a 2007 graduate from the University of Kentucky, combines his own experiences with golf, his knowledge of St. X and its students, and a much needed on-campus presence for the student-athletes who participate in the golf program.
"The Saint Xavier golf program has a storied tradition of both team and individual success. We are very excited that Davis, David and Curt have agreed to be the leaders of our program and to work together to help our student-athletes pursue their dreams" – Alan Donhoff, Athletic Director
"I'm thrilled to take on this opportunity to work with David and Curt to continue the great tradition of St. X golf, help student-athletes achieve individual and team goals, and to grow the game with the use of the state-of-the-art Musselman Golf Center on campus." – Davis Boland
