Graduates Named Fulbright Scholars

Three members of Class of 2014 members receive prestigious Department of State scholarships

Congratulations to three members of the Class of 2014 who have been granted Fulbright scholarships for 2018. The Fulbright Scholar program is highly competitive and provides merit-based grants for students to study and work abroad. Paxton Duff (pictured left) will graduate from Centre College in May with degrees in Spanish and Politics. He will be an English Teaching Assistant in Mexico. Kyle Hilbrecht and Christian Bush, roommates and University of Louisville McConnell Scholars, will also be English Teaching Assistants. Kyle graduates in May with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and a minor in Creative Writing. He will travel to Laos, which is located in southeastern Asia. Christian graduates in May with degrees in Asian Studies, Political Science, as well as History. He will travel to Macau, which is located off of China's southern coast.

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the Fulbright U.S. Student Program competition aims to increase mutual understanding among nations through educational and cultural exchange while serving as a catalyst for long-term leadership development.
