Cross Country coach Chuck Medley will retire as the third most decorated head coach in Tiger history

Saint Xavier High School announces that Coach Chuck Medley is retiring from the position of Head Cross Country Coach after twenty-one seasons at the helm.

During his tenure, the Tigers captured ten Kentucky High School Athletic Association 3A state titles and earned four runner-up trophies. Additionally, Medley coached the Tiger Track and Field team from 1999-2011 and captured three consecutive KHSAA titles (2001-2003).

With the thirteen combined state championships, Medley is the third most decorated head coach in Tiger history. Only Marty O'Toole '57 (swimming and diving) and Joe Kroh '61 (tennis) have more won more championships at St. X.

While stepping down from the Cross Country position, Coach Medley continues to serve the students of St. X as an assistant Track Coach and as a valued member of the Mathematics Department.

Saint Xavier also announces that Coach Kyle Yochum will take over the reins of the Cross Country program after serving as an assistant Cross Country Coach for the past nineteen years. Kyle joined the Saint Xavier English Department faculty in August of 2000 and currently serves as English Department Chair.
