Stewart '06 to lead Tiger Track and Field program
Saint Xavier's Head Track & Field coach, Stephanie Tebbe, is retiring from coaching after guiding the Tigers to the 2019 KHSAA 3A State Championship. Stephanie served as an assistant coach from 2009 to 2014 before taking over the leadership of the program in 2015. She will continue to serve the school's students as a valued member of the English department.
Please welcome David Stewart, Saint Xavier Class of 2006, as the new Head Coach of the Tiger Track & Field team.
"I am excited about the opportunity to lead the Track and Field Program at Saint Xavier High School, especially being an alumnus of the program," said David. "I am looking forward to working with our talented young men and excellent coaching staff in this new role. I am grateful to have worked under Coach Stephanie Tebbe and hope to continue the success of this program through modeling her leadership."
A 2011 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Master's in Education, David has been a member of the Saint Xavier Social Studies and Foreign Language departments teaching World Geography and German for the past eight years. During those eight years, he has served as an important member of the Track & Field staff while working with students in hurdles, sprints, and throws events. Extremely active in the life of the school, David has been involved with various co-curricular and extracurricular activities including the Y-Club, German Club, Ultimate Frisbee Club, and the St. X Retreat Program.
"David has always demonstrated a passion for everything that he does each day here at Saint Xavier," said Athletic Director Alan Donhoff. "I have watched him grow within our program while using that passion to become an integral member of our coaching staff. I look forward to working with him as our new Head Track & Field Coach."
