Collin Kemper and Joshua Jacob win Best of Show in regional competition

Saint Xavier High School congratulates seniors Joshua Jacob and Collin Kemper on their recent success at the Louisville Regional Science and Engineering Fair held at the Louisville Science Center.

Collin won Best of Fair in the Energy (Physical) category for his project, Essential Features of Hyperloop Systems. Additionally, Joshua won Best of Fair in the Engineering Mechanics category for his project, Development of a Hybrid Direct Write 3D Printer: A Novel Approach to 3D Printing Multi-Material Functional Devices and Flexible Electronics. This marks the fourth Best of Fair award for Joshua, the most awarded science fair student in recent school history.

Collin and Joshua are currently enrolled in the Honors Independent Science Research class at St. X and will advance to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Pittsburgh on May 13-18. Annually, only four students from more than 100 high schools within the region advance to ISEF.

The ISEF is the world's largest pre-college science competition with 1,800 competitors from 78 different countries. The fair rotates between Pittsburgh, Phoenix and Los Angeles. In order to participate, one must qualify by winning best of fair at either the regional or state science fair.

Congratulations, Joshua and Collin!
