St. X proudly announces that 128 students of the 320 young men that took 745 Advanced Placement Exams in May 2020 have been recognized as AP Scholars by the College Board's Advanced Placement Program. 90% (289) of the students that took the exams qualified for college credit, surpassing the state (53%) and global (61.3%) averages of total AP students with passing scores.

The AP Scholars are divided into four categories:

Forty-two (42) students qualified as AP Scholars by earning scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.

Twenty-nine (29) students qualified for the designation of AP Scholar with Honor for earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

Fifty-seven (57) students qualified for the honor of AP Scholar with Distinction for earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

Additionally, eight of the previously mentioned 57 test takers that were recognized as AP Scholars with Distinction, qualified for the College Board's highest honor of National AP Scholar. The students, Christian Beck, Alex Chester, Justin Durik, Anthony Mohr, Kasey Mutwalli, Colin Roark, John Paul Stegman, and Justin Varga, all members of the Class of 2020, earned an average score of at least 4 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

The school's performance has an average pass rate of 91% over the last four years. In the Class of 2020, over 58% of students have taken an AP course during their four years at St. X.

"Our scores reflect the strength of the four-year curriculum in every subject area rather than an isolated performance in any given year. This is what distinguishes our program," said Amy Sample, interim principal.

St. X is able to offer over 26 AP courses due to the outstanding and highly qualified faculty and the campus resources available for all teachers and students.

Additionally, the strength of St. X's World Languages Department allows college-level study in Chinese, French, German and Spanish. 100% of St. X's students who tested in French and Spanish earned passing scores.
