Saint Xavier recognizes academic merit among incoming freshmen by offering scholarships based on achievement on the Scholastic Testing Service Placement Exam. All students scoring at the 95th percentile or above are invited to complete an application for recognition as a Xavier Scholar. Award amounts vary according to the level of achievement on the Placement Exam. Students must take the Placement Exam at Saint Xavier on the original test day or make-up test day to be recognized as a Xavier Scholar. All scholarships are renewable annually as long as the student maintains a 3.6 cumulative grade point average (based on a 4.0 unweighted scale) and represents himself with the attitude, integrity and honor expected of all St. X students.
In addition, one scholarship will be awarded at the end of the freshman year to the student with the highest grade point average or rank in class of those not already recognized as Xavier Scholars. This award is also renewable annually.
