Principal's eNews We look forward to welcoming freshmen to campus next month to join our Band of Brothers and begin their high school careers.
This is the first official weekly email you will receive from St. X. It will generally arrive every Monday, but since books can be ordered as of today, I want to go ahead and give you a few updates. This weekly email will provide all of the news that parents and students will need to stay informed throughout the year.
Over the next few weeks, I will send different steps freshmen must complete before attending orientation along with updates on changes we must make in order to comply with new COVID-19 regulations. What Will This School Year Look Like?
The simple answer is that we are not sure. We have plans ready for any given scenario. Even though guidelines were released by the KY Department of Education and the KY Department of Public Health, the landscape continues to evolve. Schools have three options:
The Future of Online Learning at St. X
As we continue throughout the summer, we want you to know what we are doing to improve online learning to make sure it is in line with a St. X education.
Your Input
There are a few surveys we will send over the summer to get your thoughts and feedback to guide some of our decisions. Your feedback is important to us as we navigate planning for the upcoming school year. We would like for students and parents to use the following link to give us feedback on how remote learning worked at the end of their 8th grade year. Welcome President Paul Colistra
Mr. Colistra has remained connected to our school community over the past few months and is now in Louisville full-time. He is excited to start meeting students, faculty, and staff as the new school year begins. Please take a moment to extend a warm welcome to President Colistra and his wife Colleen and their children Ryan and Luca. Textbooks Available for Purchase Textbooks can now be purchased from MBSDirect. Free shipping is available on orders placed July 4-10.
To access a student's booklist from MBS, click "Let's Get Started" and then enter his student number (reference the math placement letter) and follow the instructions. Contact MBS at 800-325-3252 if you have any questions or need assistance. Many courses offer online textbooks instead of hardbound books. Details on how to purchase those texts will be given out on the first day of class. Summer Reading 2020 The Rules are Easy We encourage you to choose from any genre of books, magazines, newspapers, or even how to manuals. While summer reading is optional this year, students who log their reading progress will be included in a raffle to win prizes including St. X swag, gift cards, and a set of Apple AirPods! The more you read means a greater chance to win! Be sure to check out some suggested reading from the Callahan Media Center. @stxtigers Email Address Any freshman who has not already done so should create his St. X email address as soon as possible. We have already started using that email account for some school communications, and moving forward, that account will be vital for receiving classroom specific communications.
Directions for creating the email account were sent in May from the Admissions Team. Contact Efren Quirino, Director of Information Technology, if you need assistance. Create Apple ID
All new students must set up an Apple ID before orientation using their new @stxtigers email account. This account will be used to set up the iPad at orientation. How to set up an Apple ID

Campus Update
Administration and staff are working from both home and campus. Refer to the school directory for phone extensions and email addresses to reach a specific contact.
Buildings on campus are currently restricted to staff only. If you have items you need to bring to campus, there is a drop box available for letter-sized envelopes. Envelopes with tuition payments must include the student's name and student ID number.
The drop box is located near the entrance of the Brother Edward Driscoll building across from the Callahan Media Center.
