The Jack ’53 and Mary Anne Raque Family

The Jack and Mary Anne Raque legacy is alive and well at Saint Xavier High School.  After decades of dedicated service to the St. X community, these two Tiger treasures left us much too early.  But they left behind a clan that has built on their heritage to become one of the most trusted, hard-working and influential families in St. X history: John ’77, Bee McCormick (Assumption High School ’78), Scott ’80, Kevin ’82 and Mark ’85.  The Raque family has devoted innumerable hours of service to St. X, St. Raphael parish, and the greater Louisville community.

John is Agent for the Class of 1977 and a longtime Phonathon caller.  He was a member of the St. X Alumni Association Board of Directors from 1990-1996, and served as its president.  John is a member of the Optimist Club of Louisville and served as President from 2013-2015.  At St. Raphael, where he was named Alumnus of the Year in 2005, John is President of the St. Vincent dePaul Society, Coordinator of Eucharistic Ministers, Picnic Booth Captain, and a member of the Worship committee.  John and his late wife, Jane, have three children, Matt ’06, who served as the St. X Freshman Assistant Basketball Coach from 2012-2015 and is a current Agent for the Class of 2006, Jennifer Kelley AHS ’07, and Allison AHS ’10.

Bee has provided countless hours as a St. X mom, working concession stands and Open Houses, and together with her husband, Dr. Tom McCormick ’78, hosted numerous dinners for Tiger football teams and information nights for prospective students.  She was a member of the MOMS Club, the Blue Ribbon Accreditation panel, and part of the 2015 Strategic Plan focus group.  At St. Raphael, she serves as a Eucharistic Minister, Picnic Booth Captain, and Bereavement Committee member.  Bee and Tom, who serves as a St. X team physician, have four children, Patrick ’05, Michael ’09, who is a St. X faculty member and Assistant Varsity Football coach, Claire AHS ’12, and Andrew ’14.

Scott is the long-serving Agent for the Class of 1980, a longtime Phonathon caller, and has served as a member of the Xtravaganza and Gala Raffle Ticket committees.  He served on the Board of Directors for the Mattingly Center from 2004-2008 and the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation from 2000-2004.  At St. Raphael, he is a Eucharistic Minister and Picnic Booth Captain, is a member of the St. Vincent dePaul Society and has served as a CSAA Basketball coach since 2001.  Scott and his wife, Maria DeCamillis Raque, have seven children, Jake ’07, Meredith AHS ’09, Liz AHS ’09, Scott, Jr. ’11, Alex ’13, Max ’13, and Caroline AHS ’13.
