Through the Years

• In 2001, Head Coach Randy Boehme started the ice hockey team, becoming the 13th sport offered at Saint Xavier High School. During that inaugural season, the Tigers finished with a 12-4 record and were state runners-up.
• In 2002, the Tigers defeated Trinity 3-1 in OT to capture the state title. John Micka and Dean Wilkinson were selected All-State.
• The varsity team finished the 2003 season with a 17-3 record and lost a heartbreaker in the state championship game. The 2003 season was also the first year of the JV program.
• In 2004, the Tigers finished the season as regular-season champions. Steve Ruddle, Jay Theobald, Dean Wilkinson, John Carroll, Ryan Jones, and Paul Richardson became the first four-year players to go through the program.
• The 2005 season marked the fourth time in five seasons the Tigers season ended in the state championship game. Brett Edward, Scot Hannigan, and Patrick Sullivan were named to the All-State team.
• The Tigers finished the 2009 season 16-4 and were runners-up in the state tournament, led by All-State selections Will Shrader, Nick Nuss, and Alex Senn.
• The Tigers were selected to represent the state of Kentucky at the 2010 USA Hockey National Championships in Chicago, finishing 13th out of 26 teams. Nick Nuss and Alex Senn repeated as All-State selections.
• Curtis Overbey took over the program 2011-12 season, becoming the second coach in program history. Terry Bellot was selected All-State.
• Zach Flynn was selected to the All-State team in 2012 and 2013.
• The Tigers hockey team made big strides during the 2021-22 season, winning 13 games. SO Andrew Larkin led the team in scoring with 52 goals. For the second consecutive year, the hockey team finished the season strong by advancing to the championship game of the JV tournament in Ohio.
• In the 2022-2023 season, the Tigers again took steps forward finishing 4th in the state. Stephen Wickson (Freshman/Forward), and Davis Nichols (Junior/Defense) were both named FHSHL 22-23 First Team All-State. Henry Arnold (Sophomore) and Nick Beam (Sophomore) were both named Second Team All State, and Chuck Rutherford (Freshman) was named Honorable Mention.
