Saint Xavier Media Credential Application

Required

MEDIA CREDENTIAL GUIDELINES

Media Credential

To maintain a professional and organized media environment, credentials will be granted to active media professionals who consistently cover high school athletics. All credential requests must be submitted through our online application system. The standard deadline for application will be 48 hours prior to the event, with some exceptions for postseason and other events scheduled on an expedited timeline.

How to Apply for Credentials

● Credential requests must come directly from the editor, sports director, or assignment manager of the media organization.

● Freelance writers and photographers must apply under the name of the media outlet they are representing for a given event.

● Saint Xavier Athletics reserves the right to limit access due to a number of variables.

● Outlets are accountable for the behavior and compliance of their credentialed staff. Misuse of credentials or failure to follow policies can lead to immediate revocation and denial of future access.

Credential Distribution Policy

● Priority will be given to established, reputable media organizations with a track record of consistent coverage of Saint Xavier Athletics.

● Credentials will not generally be issued to forums, message boards, or recruiting services.

● Individuals under 18 should apply as approved student / school-affiliated media.

By accepting a credential, all media personnel agree to adhere to the guidelines set by Saint Xavier Athletics and understand credentials can be revoked at any time. Professionalism is expected at all times. Disruptive behavior, cheering, or interfering with the event may result in removal and revocation of credentials.

School-Affiliated Media Guidelines

Schools may request access for internal or student media personnel. School-media credentials are reserved for faculty, staff, and students from schools participating in the scheduled contest.

● Faculty/Staff: Participating schools may assign one staff member as the designated photographer or media liaison.

● Student Media: Students working in an academic capacity may apply, with confirmation from the school that it is curriculum-related.

○ Student photographers are subject to the same field or court access rules as professional media and are not permitted in restricted areas (press row, locker rooms, bench areas).

Credential Pickup & Event Access

Approved applicants will receive confirmation via email approximately 24 hours before the scheduled event. Media personnel must check in at the designated media entrance per the confirmation email. Credentials will be issued on-site and are valid only for the event and date listed.
