Alcohol and Drug Policy: The St. X Community hopes that seniors can enjoy the closing events of their high school career without the use of alcohol or any other drug. Any student found in possession of drugs or drug paraphernalia or under the influence at any closing event, including graduation practice, will jeopardize his opportunity to participate in graduation activities.

Grooming and Dress Code: Regular grooming codes are in effect for all end-of-the-year events, including being clean shaven. See event details below for specific dress code expectations.

Library Books/Materials: Seniors must turn in any library materials or pay for lost or damaged items before receiving their cap and gown. Contact Mrs. Metcalfe with any questions.

Tuition: Tuition and fees, including any outstanding cafeteria charges, must be paid before picking up the cap and gown.

Failures: If a senior fails one course needed for graduation, he will be notified by phone, and he will be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. If a senior fails two courses required for graduation, he will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. Once all required course work is completed, he will receive his diploma. In all cases, if a senior fails a required course needed to qualify for a diploma, he must work with the Assistant Principal on a plan to make up the required course work.

Final Transcripts: College counselors have collected requests for final transcripts. A copy of final grades or graduation verification will not be sent unless a student completed their end-of-the-year Student Information Sheet. If a senior is still uncertain where he plans to attend college by the time the school year is completed, it remains his responsibility to email his college counselor at St. X to request where the final transcript should be sent.

College Counselors visited with Senior English classes recently to have students complete an end-of-the-year Senior Information Survey.  Any additional scholarship information that comes in should be uploaded to their Senior Information Survey by Thursday, April 17 in order to be published in the graduation program. Dress code: Regular school dress is required on all exam days.

Attendance: Seniors are expected to sit for exams at the scheduled time unless excused by a written doctor’s note. If a senior has both exams on an exam day, he must remain for the full testing period for both the first and second exams each day. He cannot go to his car or leave campus between exams.

Conflicts: Seniors with two exams at the same time should complete an Exam Conflict Form in Student Services by Thursday, May 8.

Exemption Policy From the Parent/Student Handbook: Seniors with an overall “A” average for both quarters of the applicable semester may be exempt if that is the policy of the individual teacher. A teacher may choose to have all students take an exam regardless of quarter grades unless it is an AP course. If a senior completes the AP exam with conscientious effort and has an overall “B” average for the third and fourth quarters and a “B” average in the course, he is exempt from the final exam in that course. If a senior does not complete the AP exam with conscientious effort, or does not take the AP exam at all, and has an overall “A” average for the third and fourth quarters and a “B” average in the course, he is exempt from the final exam in that course. He may, however, choose to take the final to improve his average in the course. Any senior who fails to complete a final examination may forfeit the privilege of participating in the graduation ceremony.

Diplomas will be mailed to the senior's primary address on record at the time of graduation. Contact Mrs. Stack if you need to update his mailing address. 

Student Services ordered each senior's cap, gown, and tassel in the Fall. Caps and Gowns will be distributed after Senior Celebration.
