10 St. X Seniors Rank Among Nation’s Top Students

Saint Xavier High School is proud to announce that 10 members of the Class of 2027 have been named Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, placing them among the top one percent of high school seniors nationwide.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation recognized more than 16,000 Semifinalists across the country this year. St. X congratulates Jack Clifford, Grant Coons, Ian Craycroft, Nolan Crider, Priest Griffin, William Jones, Matthew Meirose, Zach Reed, Gabe Spohn, and Rajaii Walsh on earning this prestigious recognition.

The 10 seniors now have the opportunity to advance in the competition and earn National Merit Scholarships. Their recognition continues a longstanding tradition at St. X, where generations of students have distinguished themselves through their hard work, curiosity, and commitment to learning.

Since the National Merit Scholarship Program began in 1955, 507 St. X alumni have achieved National Merit recognition. This year's Semifinalists have an opportunity to add their names to that legacy and carry it forward for the next generation of St. X students.

For prospective students and families, their achievement is also a reflection of the opportunities available at St. X. Students are challenged to pursue their interests, grow alongside their classmates, and prepare for what comes next through a college-preparatory experience built around both personal growth and achievement.

For current families, alumni, faculty, staff, and supporters, this recognition is another moment to celebrate the students who continue to build upon a tradition more than 160 years in the making.

Congratulations to our 2027 National Merit Semifinalists:
