St. Xavier Pipeline: Five Louisville Natives and High School Alums in the ISCO Championship Field

The ISCO Championship’s Monday Qualifier, played at the University of Louisville Golf Club, wrapped up today with four players earning coveted spots in this week’s PGA TOUR event at Hurstbourne Country Club. But the real headline belongs to Louisville.

Two of today’s qualifiers, Drew Doyle '20 and Cooper Musselman '13, punched their tickets to the ISCO Championship in dramatic fashion. They now join fellow St. Xavier High School graduates Brendon Doyle '14 (Drew’s brother), Daniel Iceman '08, and Stephen Stallings Jr. '13 in the tournament field, marking five players frm the same Louisville high school competing in a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event in their hometown.

“It’s hard to believe, honestly,” said T.R. Hollis, Tournament Director of the ISCO Championship. “You’ve got five guys, all from Louisville, all from St. X, and all teeing it up in a PGA TOUR event, right here at home. That’s not just a great story for Kentucky golf, it’s a great story for golf, period.”

The presence of five St. Xavier alums in the tournament field is sure to generate excitement among local fans, many of whom watched these athletes grow up playing high school and collegiate golf throughout Kentucky.

Jimmy Kirchdorfer '87, Chairman & CEO of ISCO Industries called it a “full-circle moment.” “We created this tournament to bring big-time golf to Louisville,” Kirchdorfer said. “To now have five homegrown guys, all from St. X, in the field? It’s incredible. It speaks volumes about the depth of talent in our city and the power of believing in your roots.”
