We are excited to introduce some of the new themes for our programs we will be running in the dining hall this school year.

Our monthly Food Focus theme will feature International Handheld Street Food each month:  This month, #FlikStreetfoods will offer a Bahn Mi for August and Arepas for September!

The Healthy Foods Matter Program will be highlighting fruits, with the Paint The Plate recipes and promotions this year. A different fruit will be features each month, such as Apples, Watermelon, and Mangos.  We look forward to #painttheplate with all RED fruits being offered in August.

This year the Tastings and Superfoods Programs have teamed up to generate interest in the dining program by highlighting something special, encouraging students to try a small amount of a new healthy food or dish. The idea is that this exposure will lead to acceptance, and enjoyment, of this food.

Our Revved Up Recipe series also continues this school year. We are continuing to enhance recipes by adding nutritious ingredients or making appropriate, nutritious substitutions. The goal is that familiar recipes taste and look as they normally would but have an improved nutritional profile.

Lastly, our Traveling Flavors Program will be making four stops across Italy with these tantalizing entrees.  A Tour of Italy Abruzzo featuring Spaghetti, Lombardy featuring Farfalle, Campania featuring

Penne, Puglia featuring Orecchiette. Throughout the school year students will have the opportunity to experience authentic Italian meals.  #TravelingFlavors

Our goal is to provide an enjoyable and exciting dining experience for all. We pride ourselves in preparing high-quality dishes from fresh ingredients. The menus are constantly changing in order to meet students' needs. This school year we have added a baked potato bar, revamped the pasta bar, and switched to all local beef and chicken at the Grill. As always, we offer well-balanced meal options every day with a variety of soups, entrees, vegetarian items, deli selections, and bountiful salads.


Flik will continue its sponsorship of the Culinary Club for the 12th year. This elite group of young men will venture into the wonderful world of Culinary Arts. Beginning August 27th, the Club will meet every other Monday immediately after school in the St. X kitchen. The Club is moderated by a St. X faculty or staff member and the FLIK Culinary Team. Club meetings, which will last about two hours, will start with a basic skills lesson. This club can help prepare students for life and a possible future in Culinary Arts! There is no fee to join and membership is open to all students.
