Congratulations Coach Kyle Yochum and the Tiger Cross Country team!
The second state championship matchup came only a few hours later at Henry Clay High School in Lexington. The Tigers defeated South Warren 1-0 on Saturday night and claimed the school's 15th KHSAA state soccer title and 17th state title overall. The lone goal was scored by Sulli Meyer who headed in a corner kick from Agustin Gonzalez early in the second half.
Sulli Meyer was named the tournament's MVP. Additionally, Jeffrey Cox and Agustin Gonzalez were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Tigers outscored their opponents 9-2 throughout their four-game tournament run, shutting out their final two opponents.
This championship marks the 11th for Coach Andy Schulten '87—the most of any boys soccer coach in state history, and he's 11-1 all-time in state finals.
